This transformer with a power of 275 MW, owned by Iberdrola Renovables Andalucia, has been manufactured in South Korea by Hyosung Heavy Industries and is destined for the Caparacena Photovoltaic Solar Plant, province of Granada - Spain.
Our planning includes covering the route, approximately 90 kilometers in distance between the Motril basin and Caparacena, in 3 night stages with Beam Equipment and one stage on a trailer.
Due to the height limitations of the first part of the route, ARBEGUI Special Transports will use a 32-axle Beam Unit, pulled by a Mercedes 8x6 tractor unit and two MAN units, making a total of almost 2,000 HP and 9 drive axles. Also due to the heavy weight of the unit, in this first part of the route, it will be necessary to install two sets of Jumping Beams on two bridges just a few meters apart.
In the second phase, which will consist of 1 stage, we find ramps of up to 12% gradient, for which one of its Hayes 800 HP 6x6 Tractors will be joined.
In addition, for the loading, transfer and unloading operations of the transformer at the Caparacena electrical substation, ARBEGUI will use its new Self-Propelled Hydraulic Gantry with a loading capacity of 1,000 tons, incorporated at the end of 2023.
